The Springfield State Hospital: Historical society has a dedicated team that works tirelessly to ensure that the historic buildings at Springfield are preserved and restored in a sensitive manner that commemorates their history while building the future. Both the committee members and staff members are all volunteers with a burning passion for Springfield and preserving it's history.

Founder/President
Brennan VanderVeer is a 6th generation employee at Springfield and is the founder/president of the historical society. Click to read more about Brennan.
Trustee
Shannen Anthony was the caretaker of the former Norwich State Hospital in CT for 4 years and is excited to help save Springfield.

Kathleen Barquin has lived in the Sykesville/Eldersburg area for 23 years and is the Vice President of the historical society.
