Brianna Keepers

Meet Brianna Keepers, a Trustee at the Springfield State Hospital: Historical Society. Read on to discover more about her work, mission, and dedication to preserving Springfield’s history.

Brianna's Story

Brianna Keepers was born and raised in Sykesville, where, like many lifelong residents, she grew up with Springfield woven into the fabric of the town’s identity. For Brianna, Springfield has never been a taboo subject, but rather an important and familiar part of the community’s story. Her connection to Springfield is also personal—her mother-in-law, Mary Wood VanderVeer, served as an LPN at Springfield from 1978 to 1985. Additionally, Brianna’s son, Brennan, is the founder and president of the historical society and has been a driving force behind efforts to preserve and protect Springfield’s history.

Following high school, Brianna attended trade school for cosmetology and began her career as a hairdresser. After several years in the beauty industry, she pursued an interest in real estate and worked as a real estate agent before ultimately returning to her passion for hairstyling in 2022. Since then, she has worked at Hair by Samsara in downtown Sykesville and has served for more than a decade as a lead hairdresser for Amie Decker Beauty, where she specializes in luxury wedding hairstyling.

Across every role she has held, Brianna has demonstrated a remarkable ability to organize, lead, and execute projects with passion, precision, and dedication. These strengths make her role as a Trustee for the historical society essential to its success. Above all, however, the role she treasures most is being a devoted mother to her two children, Brennan and Makenna.
